The Power of Our Words in Life and How They Shape the Future

The power of words in our life is something that is so underrated that we trip and fall over it! We don’t recognize this power and neither do we teach it to the following generations, creating a crippling effect on an entire nation! Learning the power of words needs to rank right up there with learning to read and write! Because this power must be harnessed or it will destroy at a very young age!

Although we like to think of the positive power in our words, we must face the facts that there is equal destructive power in our words also. And that is why this topic is so super important. This knowledge must be shared and taught so we can escape the hurting of our own selves.

Words Attack

The tone and timing of our words set the stage for how they will be received. A strong and unfair accusation coming from ignorance on the topic at hand can create a hostile environment very quickly. Spiraling true, caring advice into the breaking of a relationship very quickly and usually leaves a mess behind. On the other hand, carefully thought out advice may be timed right and actually encourage and inspire growth and positive change. Attacking wrongs is not wrong. It must be done. But a person who is informed on the power of words will be wise in choosing the correct tone and timing to address them in the most up-lifting way.

Words Attach

Negative words slice right down to the very heart. They drive people away because no one volunteerly wants to be hurt. Are you feeling friendless and wondering why no one wants to go out to lunch with you? Check your words. You may be using your powerful words to push people away. Words stick. People rarely forget words directed to them. Whether they are positive or negative, they attach themselves in people’s hearts with firmness that remains for years and sometimes a lifetime.

So we understand that the power in our words lasts a long time! Future generations often reap the results and still feel the enormous power of words that were allowed to attach themselves to their grandparents or even earlier ancestors!  This is another reason to help others understand how important harnessing this power is. Because this power can reach into future generations.

Words Aquire

Words come from our thoughts and become things. They are alive and can cause much destruction or growth depending on how the power is used. This means that we can change our life by the power of our words. By focusing on negative thoughts, we begin to speak the powerful words of self loathing, lies, and hate. This brings harsh, angry actions to ourselves and to others around us. This creates a lifestyle that very quickly brings us to ruin socially, mentally, and physically. Or we can choose positive and truthful thoughts that help us to focus on growth and adding value to our life. Other people notice this quickly and are more apt to gravitate to this power. Because it heals. It brings life that we all crave. And it changes our world for the better!

So how do we control which power our words use? By remembering that our words come from our thoughts. The true battle begins by controlling what we allow to stay in our mind, by being intentional about what we focus on and where our mind wanders to. It’s a training station we must stay up to date with every day, accepting and denying entrance to thoughts that constantly knock, by keeping our mind focused by daily affirmations of truth. Surrounding ourselves with others who also train their thoughts and use powerful words for good. Reading up-lifting books that put good thoughts in our minds to crowd out the negative thoughts. These are just a few of the ways we can take action to make sure the power in our words is building and growing us and those we meet.

Words create our future and determine our quality of life! So we must be intentional about the power of our words on a daily basis.
